UK Headquarters membership fee - review on how it is calculated and who should pay

11/01/2012

We have launched a review of how the UK Headquarters (HQ) membership fee affects the recruitment and retention of adult volunteers.

We want to hear a wide range of views from across the membership on how the UK HQ adult membership fee is covered locally and invite feedback on proposed options for how the calculation of the HQ membership fee could change.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. It will be open until midnight on Tuesday 31 January 2012.

Please note this consultation is not looking at the cost of the UK membership fee, nor is it a referendum or a majority vote on the options put forward in the survey.

The survey is a way to collect information and opinions from members in order to inform any future decisions about how the UK HQ membership fee should be calculated and who should be charged.

Some members may not know much about how the UK HQ membership fee works and how it is managed locally. Information is given within the survey to help respondents answer questions as fully as possible. However some members may feel this survey is not suitable for their responses as their role does not require them to know anything about this subject area.

Many thanks to those adult members who are able to share their views with us.

I am fairly new to scouting and operate as Group Treasurer. I would like to know how the annual Insurance fee for both leaders and members alike are culculated and also when during the year are groups advised of the fees.
