Pakistan flooding emergency appeal

Please be aware, the information in this article is no longer current.
The disastrous flooding which has devastated Pakistan’s north west in the last week has left over 1,000 people dead and over 4 million people affected as monsoon weather threatens to make the situation more grave.
As the UK’s Disasters Emergency Committee charities launched a national broadcast appeal for aid, The Scout Association is encouraging its Members to consider the half a million Scouts in Pakistan, and supports the efforts of disaster relief agencies.
Some of our partner charities are currently working working to alleviate the situation as best they can. ShelterBox has already dispatched 1,000 tents to the worst-hit region, providing 10,000 people with shelter and emergency supplies.
SOS Children's Villages is also striving to provide shelter to unaccompanied children who become lost or orphaned as a result of the disaster. The charity is currently fundraising to provide 100,000 food packages.
