Enroll at the School of Everything
16/04/2010
Here’s an opportunity, if you have your own Scout meeting place, to help your local community and generate a little additional income for your Group at the same time.
School of Everything is a government-backed online database for adult informal learning. This includes venues, throughout the UK, where adult learners, teachers and groups can meet up to learn together.
The learning activities themselves could be anything from a yoga class to a local history group or Spanish conversation workshop.
The School of Everything is inviting you to advertise your meeting place, free of charge, on the site as a possible learning venue during times when it’s not already in use. The site will then put interested local teachers and groups in touch with you. After that, it’s up to you to take the conversation forward and agree details.
Registration is quick and easy – just go to the School of Everything website and provide a brief description of what your meeting place can offer.
Any problems or questions, email hello[@]schoolofeverything.com
Please note, before signing up, The Scout Association recommends that you read and if necessary act on the following information:
- Use of Scout land is a local Charity Trustee decision.
- There may be land law stipulations to follow.
- Suggested hire licenses for units area available from The Scout Association’s Legal Team – but these will need to be adjusted locally.
- Any arrangement you make may need SATC, landlord and/or local solicitor involvement, which may involve fees.
- You will need to check and ensure your buildings insurance.
