Hot Wheels is a name that will be familiar to lots of you, and this year the brand will be sponsoring the Beaver Creativity Badge, providing an exciting resource pack based around their new TV animation and toy range, AcceleRacers.
Set in a futuristic fantasy world, the action in AcceleRacers is centred around teams of expert drivers all racing to try and capture the Wheel of Power. It is a tale of good versus evil, as to allow the prize to fall into the hands of the evil Racing Drones or the mysterious Silencerz could mean the end of the world!

Hot Wheels have created a Leader’s pack that contains everything you need to know about AcceleRacers, as well as some really engaging ideas for creative activities, such as creating an AcceleRacers car, character. Every Beaver Scout will also receive a great AcceleRacers poster to help give them inspiration. For even more freewheeling ideas, you can also call the Hot Wheels’ consumer line on 01234 567 8912 to receive a copy of the first hour-long AcceleRacers episode.
Crosshead: Hot competition!
To celebrate the launch of the Hot Wheels AcceleRacers resource pack, we’re giving your Colony the chance to win fantastic Hot Wheels toys. Three Colonies will have the chance to win and even better, every Beaver Scout in the winning groups receive an individual prize!
Tying in with the suggested activities from the Creative Badge Resource pack, prizes will be awarded to groups submitting the following:
- Best AcceleRacers Character
- Best AcceleRacers Car Design
- Best AcceleRacers Racing Realm
Groups may submit a single group entry or multiple individual entries; however, all submissions must come from Leaders. Judges will select the best entry from the above categories. The prize will comprise 1 AcceleRacers Swamp Beast Track set per Beaver Scout in each of the winning groups.
Entries should be sent to Beavers/Hot Wheels Competition, Mattel UK, PO Box 3135, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 4YL. Closing date for entries is 28 February 2006.
Terms and Conditions:
- Competition is open to Beaver Scouts based in the UK only.
- Closing date 28 February 2006.
- Prize is 1 x AcceleRacers Swamp Beast Track Set per Beaver in winning groups. No cash alternative is available.
- Colour photocopied entries are acceptable and in the case of 3D structures a clear photograph will be acceptable.
- Entries will not be returned.
- Proof of posting is not proof of receipt and Mattel UK takes no responsibility for lost or damaged entries.
- Mattel UK reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of the same or higher value.
